FREE Dog Training (please read full ad)

Hello! I am working through an online dog training certification course, it is all positive reinforcement based and completely force free. I have an elderly rescue cat who does not like dogs so am unable to have a dog, and to complete the course I need to complete several practical experience assessments. So I thought I'd post this ad and offer free training in exchange for a dog to work with. The sessions will need to be recorded (to pass the assessments with my faculty advisor), and below you will find a list of the behaviours you can choose from (pick one or several!). Some will be more suitable for young dogs/rescues who don't know a lot, however you may find a few even a well trained dog might not know. Training can give your dog mental stimulation and improve your ability to communicate with your canine companion. As I am still learning I am offering all training free of charge, however I do need a minimum commitment of two 30 minute sessions per week (more is preferred, especially if you want multiple behaviours taught), and you must be located in/around the Duncan area. I am only offering to train behaviour listed below, and once they are learned the free training will be discontinued. If the training with your dog is a success I would also really appreciate a written reference for future training once I have finished my course. Basic Behaviours (more suited to young/rescue dogs, as the dog cannot know the behaviour to begin with) -Sit (does your dog not know how to sit when you ask??? this is one I am having the most difficulty with as most dogs know sit) -Stay -Down -Attention (getting dog to give you eye contact and attention on request) Intermediate Behaviours (maybe you've mastered the basics but are struggling to get your dog to come into the house out of the yard, or are just looking for a new thing for the two of you to learn together) -Touch (hand targeting) -Drop -Recall (dog returning when called) -Leave It -Wait -Polite Leash Walking -Mat work (dog goes to mat on cue) -Stand If this sounds of any interest to you, please contact me via information and let me know what behaviours you are interested in teaching your dog, your dog's age and training experience, and what your expectations/goals for training are.
