Job Title: Warehouse & Coffee Roaster Employer: Serious Coffee Roasting Plant, Duncan BC Company Overview: Serious Coffee has been around since 1994 roasting Coffee, providing Tea products and baked goods to franchise locations all over Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast and in New Westminster. This job opening is for upcoming growth and back up for staff within our companies. Description of Position: Entry Level with Full Training Provided Start Date: As Soon As Possible Starting Wage: Negotiable based on relative experience. Terms: Full Time Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm Benefits (after qualification period met) No evenings, weekends or stats Staff discounts Complementary fresh roasted coffee of your choice Free Parking Friendly work environment Job Requirements: • Some easy math skills, counting and ability to use a calculator • Basic computer data entry skills • Ability to work quickly and efficiently • Ability to keep a tidy workspace • Able to plan and organize your time to meet deadlines • Food safe certificate preferred • Clean class 5 driver’s license required • Ability to lift some heavy items • Able to work independently and with others • Punctual and reliable • Forklift certificate is a bonus • General ability to use common tools Job Description: You will have a unique opportunity to be fully trained to use our specialized coffee roaster to roast coffee beans from the green stage to the roasting of these blends in our gas fired air roaster, to bagging, labeling and sealing the roasted coffee. General duties which include and not limited to; • Picking and packing orders, • Packaging products, • Workplace cleanup, • Keeping a well organized workspace, • Preparing packaging materials, • Shipping & receiving, • Preparing and packaging our bulk teas, • Keeping our stock levels up for all product • Using first in first out to ensure all product rotated correctly • Keeping accurate inventory counts • Back-up delivery driver to cover vacation, sick and other days for our driver. This role is primarily working in the warehouse department of the company, but there can be the potential to work in other departments of the company learning new skills when needed.
