Qualifications Prior experience in a supervisory role or at least 2 years' experience in shipping/order picking. Experience in food manufacturing is an asset. A high school diploma or equivalent education is recommended and a Food Safe Level 1 certificate is required. The Shipping Supervisor must be able to lift up to 20 kg and work in a cold environment. Great organizational skills, communication skills, and a willingness to work well with others are required. Objective To ensure that the customers' orders are palletized and shipped in an organized and timely manner up to company standards and to maintain a good relationship with your staff by making sure their needs within the company are met. Responsibilities To follow all company policies at all times, especially those related to food safety, quality, and personal safety. While in production and storage areas, the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for maintaining uncompromising food safety and quality. Arrive on time for scheduled shifts. To maintain the sanitation of the shipping area and equipment. Ensure that orders are picked and shipped on time by the shipping operators according to information received from the sales department and Logistics and Distribution. Ensure that all orders shipped are checked for food safety and quality, including recording truck and product temperatures, and stored. Maintain an organized and clean shipping department and shipping coolers and ensure Shipping Operators perform inventory counts in a timely manner for Production Planning. Maintain adequate staff levels by adjusting schedules and requesting hiring when needed. Maintain good communication with the Sales and Logistics teams to ensure all orders are completed to the customer needs. Train and supervise Shipping Operators, ensuring that first-in-first-out and compliant allergen storage are maintained. Check pick sheets. Perform quality checks. Maintain records demonstrating the proper functioning and sanitation of equipment (e.g. forklift logs).
