Permanent PT Health Care Aide

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Graduation from a recognized program for Care Aides 2. Previous experience in a residential care setting preferred. 3. Clearance to work with vulnerable adults as defined by the Ministry of Justice, Criminal Record Check 4. Certification in WHMIS and Foodsafe; first aide certification preferred. 5. Registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry as per legislation passed on June 30, 2010. DUTIES: 1. Under the direction of the nurse, carry out the day to day care of residents including hygiene, bathing, dressing, and feeding. Manage resident incontinence. 2. Participate in assigned treatments as directed by supervisor. 3. Report any unusual occurrences to the nurse including changes in resident condition or behaviour. 4. To be aware of all resident activities and enable residents to attend the programs. 5. To complete laundry and meal service duties. 6. To assist in the admission of new residents ensuring clothing and personal possessions are marked with the resident's name. 7. To maintain resident confidentiality. 8. To perform other related duties as assigned.
