Early Childhood Educator

Nature of Position: Immediate positions to accommodate vacant shifts on an as-needed basis, up to Thirty-seven and one half hours (37.5) per week. Shift Schedules will vary and will rotate. Qualifications: * Must have graduated from an approved ECE program * Current License to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator in the province of BC. * ECE-IT is preferred. ECEA will be considered. * Must have a valid First Aid certificate appropriate for childcare. * Must be a member of ECEBC. * Valid Criminal Record Check * FoodSafe BC Certificate preferred Required Knowledge and Education: * Experience working in the early childhood field * Experience working in a team environment * Understanding of and willing to follow a child-centered approach in practice * Knowledge of Reggio Emilia inspired practices Skills: Empathic, caring, family-focused with the ability to nurture young children and their families. Wage/Salary: Pay scale will be in Accordance with BCGEU Collective Agreement and the Duncan Daycare Society. The successful candidate will be required to belong to the BCGEU Bargaining Unit and will work with the Collective Agreement between BCGEU and the Duncan Daycare Society.
