ADDERLEY CERAMICS - [Adderley Works Ceramics Factory] (formerly known as Lane End Pottery) Made from red clay that was discovered in the Stoke-on-Trent in the Staffordshire area of Britain, this clay resulted in a ceramic which seemed to retain heat better and so found use as the material for the teapot as early as the seventeenth century. The design of the pot which allows the tea leaves more freedom to swirl around as the water is poured into the pot, releasing more flavour with less bitterness.
