Are you a night owl with good leadership and strong team building skills? If yes, ColdStar Solutions is looking to hire a night lead hand who will report directly to the Night Operations Manager and focus on leadership, team building and ensuring efficient time management. This shift is Monday - Friday 11 pm start. Responsibilities: · Manage the nightly cross- dock operations, including timely loading and unloading of freight; · Overseeing the Cassidy Cold Storage Warehouse; · Manage reefer temperatures and lockout safety procedures; · Maintain daily communication with the Freight Assemblers and Night Operations Manager; · Enforce proper safety practices, procedures and awareness; · Lead by example; · Train new staff; Qualifications · Strong leadership & communication skills: able to grow & manage staff, build & encourage teamwork, and provide a positive model for co-workers; · Logical thinker with the ability to confidently make decisions; · Strong warehouse knowledge, and a competent equipment operator; · Detail and customer focused; · Able to work in a cold/ freezer environment; · Strong forklift skills required; · Flexible Schedule; able to work around vacation and unforeseen absences of the Supervisor; · Microsoft office, and general computer usage experience, an asset; Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: From $24.25 per hour Benefits: Casual dress Company Pension Employee Assistance Program Extended Health Care Life Insurance Onsite Parking Paid time off RRSP Matching Wellness Program Schedule: 8 hour shift Evenings: Evening shift Night shift Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay Retention bonus Ability to commute/relocate: Ladysmith, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Application question(s): Tell us briefly about your ability to lead a team.
