Competition Title: Community Support Worker – MH1 Program: Marchmont House Position Status: Permanent Full Time Rotation & Schedule: 4 positions - various rotations Competition No: VR – PFT 07202021 Marchmont House provides full time and respite support to a wide variety of children, youth and their families. Job Duties Required to provide personal care assistance and support to individuals in a way that promotes and maximizes growth/independence in community, including assistance with life skills and some delegated medical tasks (bathing, etc.) as directed and in accordance with the professionally established plans of care. Responsible for daily completion of progress, transition, goal and contact notes. Monthly, they will be responsible for writing and monitoring Personal Outcome Measures and MCFD Child in Care Progress Reports. Required Qualifications - To be knowledgeable, adhere to, and follow through on all Care, Safety, and transitional plans - Driver’s license and acceptable driver’s abstract - To be knowledgeable in Community Care Facility Licensing Requirements and Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) guidelines - Community First Aid course - Acceptable MCFD Criminal Record Check clearance - Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries Desired Qualifications - Experience working with children, youth with autism, intellectual/developmental delays, and behavioral challenges, and their families - Demonstrated ability to follow safety and behavior support plans - Be enthusiastic about and promote healthy eating --strong kitchen skills - Demonstrate initiative for regular deep cleaning - Community Support Worker certificate, or equivalent combination of education & experience - Familiarity with technology and software programs - Demonstrated ability to administer medications This position requires BCGEU membership.
