We are looking for a kind, compassionate person to help with household chores, cooking, running errands and personal care tasks in Lake Cowichan, BC. Experience in home care work or working with people with chronic illnesses is preferred. Must be legally able to work in Canada and have good references. $25/hr; 30 hours/week; evening and weekend work required. Please send applications with resume and cover letter Those selected for interviews will be contacted directly Qualities/experience needed: Detail oriented Experience working in homes as a caregiver/cleaner/cook or a combination of these Kind, empathetic, caring personality Must be a good fit with our household Must be comfortable caring for and understanding of someone with chronic illness Must be comfortable with a big, friendly medical assistance dog Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks independently Able to follow directions both written and verbal Able to cook and follow strict dietary restriction instructions Must know how to clean, familiarity with non-toxic cleaning products is an asset Must be physically fit, able to lift 50lbs and be able to hold a big dog on leash Must live in/near Lake Cowichan or be willing to commute Must be willing to wear a mask and take covid precautions, being vaccinated for Covid-19 considered a plus Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Must have a clear criminal record RCA/nursing education an asset but not mandatory Non-smoker Duties include but are not limited to: Cooking daily meals according to dietary restrictions Household cleaning tasks Grocery shopping Picking up mail and prescriptions Walking medical assistance dog (on leash) Assisting with personal care tasks as needed Other duties as they come up
