Bottle Drive!

A brand new plan for our fund raising! (See below!) Do you have a pile of bottles getting bigger because the Bottle Depot isn't open? We will come and pick them up! We are bottle driving again! This time the giving will happen here and in Uganda. And if you read on you will see what we're doing with our portion of the funds this time! We're pretty excited about it. (If you haven't seen our report about the previous bottle drive trip please click the link below) https://www.usedcowichan.com/classified-ad/Bottle-Drive--Uganda-or-Bust-We-made-it-there-and-back_32274243 Here's what the new bottle drive will look like: 20% of all proceeds will be given here in the Cowichan Valley to Nourish Cowichan as they support families in need. 20% of all proceeds will be saved for Ugandan families and wired there when we have an amount which can be reasonably dispensed by our acquaintances in leadership there. The remaining 60% will be tucked away to fund... drumroll please!..... E-bikes!!! This spring we decided to invest as quickly as possible in electric bikes for each one of us so we can go on family outings that are healthy and adventurous! So far we've dipped into a bit of savings to fund 4 of the bikes. So our plan is to pay some of those savings back and also save up for a 5th bike to be purchased as soon as possible! We will appreciate your donations of bottles and cans to help us reach our goal! Here's how we do it: Our family would be happy to come and pick up your recyclable bottles and cans for you. (Minimum of 1 garbage bag please). We have a truck so the larger the load the better! Gather them from neighbours if you are able! And if you simply want to give but don't have bottles on hand we happily accept all cash donations! We are from Duncan so anywhere in the Duncan or Lake Cowichan area is within our range. If you are outside of that range but would really like to be involved call anyway.
