International Montessori is looking for a passionate Early Childhood Educator at our Cowichan Station location, who is interested in working with preschool children in a Montessori environment. We are looking for an individual who is able to work both independently as well as part of a team to create a dynamic and engaging Montessori experience. Primary responsibilities include: • Alongside the management, plan and implement a dynamic Montessori program. • Ensure the safety of all children • Ensure the daily preparation of learning areas and materials. • Assume overall responsibility for program tools and equipment, including safety, use, and maintenance. • Plan, prepare and co-create seasonal activities and projects utilizing natural materials, locally foraged or sourced. • Implement mentor-ship strategies that are individually focused and age-appropriate, with an emphasis on compassion and respect. • Attend monthly staff meetings and parent meetings as needed. • Communicate with parents effectively, in person, and occasionally by phone. Qualifications/Education: • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree is essential (not ECEA). • Current BC Early Childhood Certificate. • Clean Criminal Record Check. • Current First Aid Certificate. • Experience working with children ages 2.5-5 years old.
