Special Education Assistant

Special Education Assistant - Duncan, BC Regent Christian Online Academy is seeking a Special Education Assistant (SEA) to work in a classroom setting in Duncan with two Grade 11 special education students. This position involves a total of 4 hours per week, supporting the students in the Humanities 11/12 class and doing follow up homework support. Starts immediately. Wage is discussed upon successful application. The SEA will assist students to engage with prepared learning materials, adapt lesson presentations, and help the students focus in class. A SEA is also needed to support two Grade 8 students with special education needs in the Duncan Math 8/9 class starting April 2021 for 2 hours per week. (This class meets directly before the Humanities 11/12 class on the same day). These positions would suit Christian individuals who have a caring, flexible nature and experience working with youth. Experience with Autism is an asset but those with related experience or training, some teaching skills and a willingness to learn will be considered.
