Behaviour Interventionist – Contract Work

Bridges Speech-Language Pathology and Behaviour Consultant Services requires a Behaviour Interventionist to work one-on-one with preschool and elementary aged children as directed by parent and Behaviour Consultant, as well as other professionals such as Occupational Therapist, and Speech-Language Pathologist. Intervention to be carried out in the family home and occasionally in community based-programs and locations. Minimal Education Requirements: * Experience working with special needs populations, preferably ASD. * Self-motivated, extremely reliable, enthusiastic and excellent communication skills * Post-secondary education in a related area is preferred (e.g., Psychology, Special Education Assistant, Child & Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, or Social Work, Community Support Worker, etc.). * Course work in ABA (e.g., Douglas College Behaviour Intervention Program) * Ability to work as part of a team. * Ability to implement positive behaviour supports as needed consistently and compassionately. * Ability to set professional boundaries while working closely with the family in the home. * Dependability & consistency in implementing the intervention plan, attending sessions, entering data and asking questions to support learning and understanding. You MUST be able to provide the following: * Proof that you are over 19 years old * Have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record (Drivers abstract required) and willingness to have business insurance if transportation of the child is required for programming * Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Check if you do not have a current CRC completed in the last 12 months. * Willingness to obtain Emergency First Aid/CPR * Willingness to obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Hourly contract starting rate $20-$25/hour based on experience
