Positions: These positions will be temporary part-time to full-time from mid-May until September long weekend with the possibility of continuing in the fall part-time. Successful applicants must be available to work weekends and be between the ages of 15 and 30. Eligibility To be eligible, you must be between 15 and 30 years old. Key Duties and Responsibilities * Welcome visitors in a professional, prompt and friendly manner * Ensure the Visitor Centre is clean and tidy at all times. * Answer inquiries by mail, fax, email, Facebook Messenger, and in-person. * Research relevant community information that may be of interest to visitors. Maintain and update reference materials on a continual basis * Post current information of interest to visitors (road reports, tourist alert, weather, etc.) on Facebook and Instagram * Assist visitors with accommodations, tours, and services and encourage return visits to the Cowichan Region * Ensure that the Centre provides superior customer service * Compile and submit visitor stats * Assist the Chamber Coordinator with planning and executing projects and events Qualifications * Experience in the tourism/hospitality industry or customer service is an asset * Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) is preferred * Must have excellent organization skills with attention to detail * Must work independently as well as part of a team * Must be resourceful with knowledge of British Columbia, specifically the Cowichan Lake and Cowichan Region, and Vancouver Island * Must have a good working knowledge of computers, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word, internet search engines, and social media * Must be able to work weekends and must expect to work both Saturday and Sunday * Must be between 15 and 30 Note: The number of positions available will be dependent on funding.
