Summer Electrical Assistant and Mechanical / HVAC Assistant
Position Title: Various Summer Positions Available Department: Maintenance Perks: A great schedule, daily lunch plus a full gym and cardio room available Mechanical / HVAC Assistant 1 position available: The Mechanical / HVAC Assistant will assist in routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, installation, and calibration of various types of mechanical and heating equipment/systems. The Mechanical / HVAC Assistant will also assist with routine boiler maintenance, refrigeration and building automation controls and other boiler related controls equipment. This position will also assist in all facets of preventative maintenance including changing filters, lubricating machinery and repairing misc. lagging, assist in regular repair and maintenance of campus wide plumbing and water distribution systems. Various other duties may be required. This position may also require evening and weekend availability. Electrical Assistant 1 position available: The Electrical Assistant will assist in routine electrical maintenance, installation, and removal of various types of electrical equipment, cables and wiring. Tasks will include routine testing and replacement of lighting equipment and lamps, pumps, automation controls, may assist with repairs to electrical equipment and appliances. Various other duties may be required. This position may require evening and weekend availability. Typical Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm Skills Required: Driver's License minimum level "N" with clean drivers abstract Duration: June 24 to September 7, 2017 Wage: Range of pay $13.85 - $16.00 per hour based on experience Working Conditions: All positions involve a high level of physical effort; bending, twisting, standing, climbing, heights, and working in inclement weather. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have reliable availability. Applicants must follow WorkSafeBC regulations and wear appropriate PPE. Successful clearance of a criminal record check and legal entitlement to work in Canada are conditions of employment.
