Sous Chef beginning in April/May

Farm's Gate Foods and Catering is hiring! The Sous Chef will work alongside our Chef to maintain daily kitchen responsibilities such as menu preparation, executing catering and food truck services, inventory management and sanitation. The Sous Chef must also be able to lead a kitchen team independently and maintain chef's standards during events without Chef on site. We offer competitive wages and a unique work environment with opportunities to work a variety of events ranging from food truck services to large family style weddings, to intimate high end dinners. If you are passionate about cooking with high quality, locally sourced ingredients, and have an interest in catering and the mobile food industry, you could be a great fit! Roles and Responsibilities: -Following Chef's instruction and recipes during food preparation. -Maintaining cleanliness standards and holding others accountable for these standards. -Creating food preparation and equipment lists for event load in/out. -Leading kitchen team independently, while maintaining Chef's standards. -Receiving and checking orders. -Logging refrigerator/freezer temperature daily. -Taking inventory of product and creating orders based on scheduled events and general needs. -Contributing to menu development. -Cleaning as you go, including dishwashing. Qualifications: -3-5 years industry experience -Food Safe Level 1 -2 industry references -Reliable transportation -Able to lift up to 50 pounds -Positive attitude -Strong communication and interpersonal skills Please forward your resume to farmsgate@gmail.com.
