Cowichan Green Community Cowichan Agricultural Seed Hub Participant Seed Farm Outreach Coordinator Overview: The participant will report directly to the Cowichan Agricultural Seed Hub Supervisor and will assist with the delivery of the Cowichan Agricultural Seed Hub project until March 2020. Duties: This position will be accountable for the following: Basic Farm Duties: * Bed cleanup * Bed maintenance * Seeding, transplanting and harvesting * General maintenance of property including mowing, pollinator bed maintenance and keeping the portable clean * Crop observations Outreach: * Assist with community outreach * Schedule programming participant activities * Work with Seed Farm Coordinator to plan programming for outreach participants * Make and maintain contact with participants and case managers * Monitor progress of participants through evaluation sheets and feedback forms Experience and Knowledge: * Ability to make connections with people and the community * Volunteer or community outreach experience an asset * Knowledge of gardening/farming Working Conditions: This position will work both in an office setting and farm setting. This position will work on a contract basis of 35 hours per week with occasional evenings and weekends for the duration of the contract until March 2020. Eligibility: To qualify for this position participants must be: * On Employment Insurance (EI) or * Eligible for reach back- on EI within the last five years * Identified in the back to work action plan through Work BC.
