Host Homes Cowichan is a community-based program designed to empower homeless youth and young adults to pursue healthy and independent futures, while enabling members of the community to join in being a part of the solution. Host Homes is a pilot program developed by Social Planning Cowichan to directly mobilize community resources to provide safe and secure housing for homeless youth (16-18) and young adults (19-26) who are aging out of care and are struggling to find a home. Please consider becoming a volunteer host, making a financial donation, a contribution of needed items, or by having your business or organization partner with us to offer invaluable services for both the youth / young adult participants and host families. As a host home, you will have the opportunity to be a direct part of the change you wish to see in our community. Host families provide youth / young adults with a private room, access to three nutritious meals per day, and a caring family environment in which the youth / young adult can flourish. A stipend is provided to offset additional expenses. It will take the support of our communities to make this a successful program for our youth / young adults.
