Randstad is now looking for a Quality Technician Specialist for an exciting growing and dynamic company located in beautiful Duncan BC. This is an exciting opportunity you will get to perform the evaluation of quality control samples, control of documents, setting and evaluation of products, setting up primary stock cultures, cultivation of stock cultures and maintaining good general laboratory practices Specific Accountabilities * Have a thorough understanding of the chemistry of raw materials and products to understand how elements and chemical changes will affect the production process. * Possess analytical and process control testing equipment knowledge and operating expertise. * Possess the skills and ability to troubleshoot test equipment. * Have ability to operate and perform routine maintenance and accuracy checks on testing equipment. * Perform daily sample collection and field test equipment checks. * Operate computer interfaces and reporting programs. * Assist the production, maintenance departments, and mine as required. * Have ability to perform immediate basic repair of lab equipment to facilitate continuous plant operation * Keep current on all departmental procedure changes and be instrumental in developing and communicating new procedures as required * Be able to work with little or no supervision. * Have a desire and ability to work in a team and function in a supporting role taking directions from other team members. * Write and/or contribute to daily reports and other routine reports about special projects or incidents. * Assist in maintaining compliance with any applicable safety or environmental regulations. Qualifications: * 2 year experience in a regulated accredited lab * 2 years' experience in High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) environment * Education in chemistry or related * Strong organizations skills and strong attention to detail We look forward to hearing from you!
