Mushroom Laboratory Technician

Description Life Cykel is a global mushroom biotechnology company with its HQ in Byron Bay Australia, NSW. As a leader in functional mushroom extractions and growing functional mushrooms from coffee waste, Life Cykel is expanding into North America with a laboratory and production site on Vancouver Island. Location Cobble Hill V0R 1L4 BC Canada Project You will be carrying out a range laboratory tasks including extraction processes. This is microbiology type laboratory work under sterile conditions as well as production, harvesting and packing work all to be carried out under the direction of our Chief Scientist. Business development will be also part of the job including sales and new customer channel development. Responsibilities You will be responsible for managing the production site as well as the laboratory including extraction, harvest, packing and delivering of products. Start Date 2nd September Time Full time work 5 days/week Salary $18/h + Benefits Skills Preferably scientific with a background in farming, biology, horticulture or a relevant degree. Experience in food and agriculture industries. Confident and competent in dealing directly with customers and making sales. Willing to learn and not afraid of new environments and talking in public. Local knowledge of business and food related ecosystem on the Island are of value.
