...and I'm a 6 lb. Toy Poodle around 15 yrs old and I've had a bit of a rough life until coming to live with my new family about a year ago; my mom had died and my dad had Alzheimer's so I was in rough shape for a while there. Being uprooted at Poppy's age hasn't been easy on her and an emergency hysterectomy soon after she arrived didn't help either (the adult children who inherited her before "re-homing" her to us wouldn't give us her medical records to prevent the emergency). The groomer says she's a very good girl while being groomed, but for weeks afterwards she's a wreck & it's only getting worse. Leaving her with a stranger in a strange place might be the problem - maybe it's separation anxiety she's suffering from after being tossed from home to home at her age (she's very attached to her new dad). We think it might help Poppy cope better if someone wouldn't mind grooming her in our home in Chemainus . She's so small that our kitchen counter island would probably work great as a grooming table. We're located very near the hospital in the "old town" of Chemainus (Pine & Croft). Please email if you can help. We're not looking for free grooming - just in-home grooming. Thanks.
