To help us deliver compassionate, efficient, and quality Home Support care, we're looking for energetic, positive Health Care Aides to join our Community Health Worker team. Note: Due to the nature of our service times, the ideal candidate will live on the Outer Gulf Islands. Consideration may be given to candidates commuting from other Islands, or Crofton, Duncan, or Nanaimo. QUALIFICATIONS: * Health Care Aide or Resident Care Attendant Certificate, Nursing education or equivalent education as determined by the BC Care Aide & CHW Registry * A valid Registry Number from the BC Care Aide & CHW Registry (www.cachwr.bc.ca) * Current First Aid Certification * Current WHMIS Certification * Current FOODSAFE or Food Handler's Certificate * A valid driver's license and vehicle * Access to a phone, computer and internet * Able to effectively use a computer and electronic devices KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Knowledge and ability to operate mechanical lifts, following safe work procedures * Knowledge and understanding of pre-handling screens for client care APPLICATIONS: All interested applicants can apply through our website, beaconcs.ca, quoting the position 2018-CHW(SSI-OGI).
