Cow-Op Online Farmers Market A farmers market meets the internet for convenient year-round shopping at the Cow-op. We are a non-profit farmer and food processor co-operative with an online marketplace of locally grown and harvested food, featuring a variety of produce, meats, eggs, fruit, baking and more all grown or produced throughout the Cowichan Region. This is a convenient system for food producers and customers alike, as the farmers save time and buyers are able to shop from their computer year-round while directly supporting local family farms and businesses. Job Description This position is suited for someone with a positive attitude who is comfortable multi tasking and problem solving. A mobile phone is required. A reliable vehicle is an asset in this position but is not required. Responsibilities include on-site warehouse work 3-4 days per week and remote work 1-2 days per week. An average work week would be approximately 35hrs. Remote work includes but is not limited to researching food delivery systems, tracking systems, staying up-to-date on the most recent sanitization protocols, market research and customer relations. On-site activities will include assisting with the warehouse flow: organizing, accepting, sorting, and packing order items. Sanitizing order and delivery totes, preparing orders for delivery and physically driving delivery routes. Other activities include interacting with members of the co-operative - producers and farmers as they deliver their products to be processed and packed. The chosen candidate(s) will also need to interact with customers via phone when delivering weekly grocery orders. Applicants must be an Active EI Claimant; or had an EI benefit period that ended within the previous 60 months; or have made over $2K of taxable income for each of 5 years in the past 10 years.
