Forklift Operator

Location - 7281 Trans-Canada Hwy, Duncan, BC V9L 6B1 Summary Slegg's Duncan location is currently looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual for the position of Forklift Operator. The Forklift Operator prepares loads and unloads building materials in the warehouse through the safe operation of a lift truck. Together with other team members, the Forklift Operator works to exceed customer expectations Key Responsibilities * Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms * Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met * Build orders to required specifications for delivery * Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner * Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials * Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands * Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise * Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers * Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures * Other duties as assigned by management Skills and Qualifications * Valid forklift certification (propane) * Forklift experience is essential * Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English * Knowledge of basic mathematics * Basic hand tool skills * Physical requirements include: o Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs o Sitting and driving for longs periods of time o Frequently climbing up and down stairs o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight Compensation * Wages - competitive wages based on the market and experience * Benefits o Health benefits including drug and dental coverage, practitioners, vision, disability and life insurance o Retirement savings - RRSP or other * Perks - Company discounts (employee pricing, mobile phone plans, gym membership), recognition and training programs, opportunities for career advancement, group events and more If you feel Slegg is a good fit for your career goals and skillset, we invite you to apply and look forward to reviewing your application.
