$13 · Entry Level Position in Work with Children with Special Needs

In this position, you would work a variety of hours, as per our operational needs, and complete a variety of duties (including menial ones like toy washing and floor mopping!) and yet you would be well-mentored from a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about supporting children with special needs. It is required that you are: - reliable - excellent at tracking your own schedule and duties - organized - capable of creating and maintaining organizational systems for our busy centre (and enjoyment of organizing tasks a bonus) - are an individual willing to go 'over and above' what is asked, in order to contribute to the team - functional with Mac Computer systems - able to be reached by text/email during your shifts Understand that the posted wage is because this is a training wage, and is not negotiable. Our team prefers individuals who can: - be in 'the background' as needed so the applicant need not be particularly outgoing or outspoken (i.e. you can be reserved as long as you are able to try new things and 'learn as you go') - demonstrate growth as movement into other areas of the company, depending on capabilities, is possible - demonstrate a commitment to staying with our team for 2+ years as change for children with special needs is detrimental - follow our procedures and practices Must reside and be engaged in the Cowichan Valley to be considered for the position. Must have a vehicle and BC Driver's License.
