Community Support Worker, Cowichan Valley

Community Support Worker; 25 to 35 hours per week; $19.45 to $22.65 per hour; Start Date Aug 15, 2019. Seeking a Community Support Worker for a great employment opportunity with Inclusive Community Services Inc. We support adults who have diverse abilities in the Cowichan Valley region. We operate a life skills training program and a recreation day program through our contracts with Community Living BC. This position is for 25 to 35 hours per week beginning August 15, 2019. The successful applicant will be tasked with working in both community programs provided by Inclusive Community Services: - Partnerships For Community Progressions (PFCP) is a community-based program offering recreational activities for participants in a group environment. - Community Ventures (CV) is a life-skills training and individualized support program. The duties are varied depending on the specific requests and needs of each individual. Training and Education: This position is best suited for someone who has training, experience, compassion, patience, and a sense of humour. Other requirements: - the ability to work both independently and within a group. - physical ability to participate in recreational pursuits with participants and to perform basic lifting if needed. - must have own vehicle Community Support Worker certificate preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience); valid Class 5 driver's license (Driver's abstract will be required upon hire); and current 1st Aid.
