Meet Toby. Toby is full of love, affection, and desire for cuddles. He is great with other dogs and cats, loves to swim, hike, play fetch, go to the dog park, go on car rides, and learn new tricks. He loves to be with people, and prefers to sleep on the bed at night, if he's allowed. He's a cuddler. Toby is neutered and has had his shots, though he is due for a booster soon. So why is he seeking a new home? Toby is a complex boy. He has been bounced around from home to home since he was just a couple months old, so stability is something he is lacking. When he came into my home, he was a well behaved puppy at 10 months old, but after his first amazing week here, he began to get progressively more destructive. His destructive behaviour was at first anxiety, but now it has shifted to attention seeking behaviour. Toby has become more than just what one person alone can handle, which breaks my heart. What Toby needs is, ideally, a couple or an individual who is familiar with dogs, and who can be with him near constantly to work on his behaviour. That does not mean doggy day care or a dog walker, but for his dedicated person or people to be with him as many hours a day as possible, if not all of them. I had hoped that between my fairly lax work schedule and my other, older dog with him 24/7 to keep him company, he would find the stability he needed, but unfortunately that was not the case. It must be said that Toby is not a bad boy, he just does bad things, and he needs help redirecting. More help than I have been able to give him. Only serious inquiries will be considered, and no snap decisions will be made. Wherever Toby goes NEEDS to be the right fit. A meet and greet will be required, and some photos of your home as well to make sure it will be suitable for Toby. He has a very large crate which he finds security in, so please don't take it away. He has also a blanket, an antler, and a few toys (the ones that survived his destructive tendencies) and all his other necessities that will be coming with him, once his new home is found.
