JOB DESCRIPTION: International Montessori Academy of Canada is located in lovely Duncan, BC. We provide a full day program for children ages 30 months to 5 years old, in a Montessori environment. We're seeking permanent full time ECE's to assist the team in providing high quality care and teaching in the respect of the Montessori pedagogy. The Montessori Educator will create a safe and inviting environment and foster a positive caring strong academic environment for children. This Educator will assist in planning, preparing and implementing age appropriate activities and curriculum, provide high quality elementary education to children, and assist in organization. The successful applicant will also carry out administrative duties for the day-to-day running of the school, establish & maintain positive relationships with families, staff & children. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate to parents, staff and Board of Directors (written and oral); * ECE certification (required) * Self-motivation and the ability to work in a professional manner, and encourage positive solutions to issues; * Strong sense of service, excellence, and accountability; * Drive and commitment to finding practical solutions and the ability to connect a clear understanding of Montessori philosophy with the practicalities of running a school; * French speaking will be considered an asset. * Ability to be flexible & work independently as well as in a team environment * Able to engage children into sports and knowledge to engage children with environmental education * Adequate time management, problem solving & critical thinking skills * Current first aid certificate and Criminal Record Check * Must be willing to be a team member of staff *Liaising with Directors If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please apply with your resume and cover letter.
