Do you have unwanted goldfish? We give a home to goldfish that people don't want, or that otherwise need re-homing for various reasons. All varieties welcome. They will be homed with an already established group of small to large fish (see pictures), in a naturalized outdoor pond environment (~10,000L / 2,200 Gal), with access to a greenhouse, and a variety of natural vegetation throughout the pond (see pictures). Q: Do you sell these fish? A: No. Though, if the pond becomes too crowded in the future, then we will seek to find new homes for some of them. Q: Are the fish used for food, or any other purposes that harm/kill them? A: No. They are enjoyed by our family as we take care of them. Q: Will it cost me to re-home them with you? A: No. Although we supplement their diets with flake and pellet food, and provide medical care when needed. Unwanted/unused food is helpful, but not required at all for us taking your fish. Any unused medicines and other fish care supplies are also welcome by donation. Q: Do you accept other species of fish? A: Yes. We will accept Koi and Rosy Reds. Q: Are the fish protected from predators? A: Only partially. The pond is mostly open, and predation events do occur from time to time (mostly birds). The yard is blocked off, and we use some netting around the perimeter to deter herons. The fish also have access to the greenhouse, where they are generally quite safe. We also have extensive vegetation/cover for the fish. Q: What is the water depth? A: Water depth for the main pond area and under the bridge to the long section next to the greenhouse ranges from ~8" to ~4ft. Water depth inside the greenhouse ranges from ~6" to 2.5ft. Please send an email to tenebris1@shaw.ca if you have any fish needing re-homing, or if you have any questions. Thank you.
