AP/AR Assoicate

Located in Duncan, BC, Arbutus Farms manufactures and delivers exceptional food solutions that seamlessly bridge leading edge food service systems into the retail environment. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Associate’s main area of responsibility are, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory. Task and Responsibilities: • Generate account statements • Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payables files and records • Perform account reconciliations • Investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquires • Prepare weekly payable schedules and prepare payments • Assist in general financial management and analysis • Perform weekly bank deposits • Reconcile inventory and notify Financial Accountant, Plant Manager and Purchaser of irregularities • Preform physical count of inventory and reconcile to the computer-generated reports • Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry, answering phones, and assisting customers Skills/Areas of Expertise: • Strong technology expertise with accounting software, MS Office Suite • Understanding and knowledge of accounting terminology • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems an asset Qualifications: • Previous experience working in accounts payable or accounts receivable • Advanced analytical skills, highly organized & detail-orientated • Strategic thinker; Offers suggestions for improvements • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines • Accounting and Finance certificate considered an asset • Working towards CPA is considered an asset • Manufacturing and distribution experience, preferably in the grocery/food industry considered an asset Arbutus Farms offers competitive wages, extended health benefits, and a professional and friendly working environment.
