Position Status: Excluded Position Salary: Negotiable according to qualifications & experience Rotation & Schedule: Full Time position, 35 hours a week with a flexible schedule to meet demands of the position Job Summary: Work under the direction of the Finance Manager to maintain and make available as appropriate comprehensive, complete, and accurate financial records for the Society, manage the bi weekly payroll. Duties & Responsibilities: Be aware of and apply the Philosophy and Ethical standards of the Society in all aspects of job performance and work towards realization of the Vision and Mission of the Society. · Maintain comprehensive, complete, and accurate financial records detailing financial transaction handled by, with, or on behalf of, the Society. All records are to be maintained in accordance with the Canadian Accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations. · Process the biweekly payroll of the Society using Com Vida in strict compliance with the Collective Agreement and Employment Standards. Assist with monthly and year end reconciliations and payments to benefit providers, WCB, MPP CRA, the completion of T4s and monthly reporting to Statistics Canada. · Assist with the completion of Service Level reports · Accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable. · Assist in the completion of the process of budget planning, financial policies and program development. · Assist with the preparation of the year end audit. · Completion of journal entries and preparation of various reconciliations. · Any other duties within the competence of the post holder as assigned. Required Qualifications: · Minimum 2 years of a recognized accounting program and or equivalent education and experience. · Ability to perform effectively under time constraints · Ability to work effectively in a team environment · Excellent interpersonal skills with strong, oral and written communication skills. · Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office (word and excel). · Scheduling/payroll system knowledge. Experience in Com Vida would be considered an asset. · Experience using Simply accounting would be considered an asset. · Experience working in a union environment would be an asset. · Strong Organizational skills. · Attention to detail is required.
