WANTED: Older Mare Seeking Light Chores in a Duncan Barn
Middle of the herd, arthritic mare seeking some light chores in a Duncan barn. Looking for a few-hours here and there (afternoons or evenings best, consider nights too if you have barn lights).
Been around the ranch a time or two and admit to escaping through an open fence on occasion to experience a thrill and flare my nostrils. No longer prone to that "marish" or high-strung behaviour and am more of a quiet, laid-back barn and paddock dweller.
Over the years I have carried a variety of riders and have always shown my loyalty regardless of the duration of the ride.
Not a trough feeder, nor do I like to hang out at the trough when there is work to be done. And I am not the first one to leave after chores are finished.
I do like to forage for my own feed as much as possible and I don't hog the hay bale. Known to graze well with other mares and geldings but am not attuned to macho stallions.
Not yet permanently out to pasture. I may not be the youngest or fastest plug in the corral, but this workhorse still has some life left and is wanting to contribute to the ranch community!
I may be a bit lame but I'd love the opportunity to carry you if you are needing an extra horse on a flexible schedule. At your barn or mine, but my barn would work well for me.
All joking aside, am seeking casual or temp work, to start, in clerical, data entry, social media, website maintenance, etc. (no reception please). Open to ideas that are not physical.
Thank you for riding along. Please provide your name and some details about your barn and your chores.
