Located next to Cowichan Valley Open Learning in the Cairnsmore neighbourhood, Growing Together Child Care Centre offers exceptional early care and learning to young children (birth to five years) as well as supports and resources for young parent families so they may successfully complete their education.
Our staff are highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educators who are dedicated to providing kind and respectful care along with stimulating and interesting learning experiences.
We are fortunate to have a full-time Cook who prepares a healthy breakfast and lunch for all the children. We are also supported by public health and child development visits, a family support worker, Aboriginal Elder, and many other community partners who contribute to the program.
We are open 8:30am to 3:00pm on school days (from September to June).
We currently have part-time (two or three days/week) and full-time spaces available in our Infant-Toddler program (birth to 3 years). Cost is $1,000/month for a full-time space (pro-rated for part-time spaces).
For a young parent returning to school whose first child was born before age 20, a parent who is working with MCFD, or a single parent who is currently receiving income assistance and enrolling in a training program through WorkBC, full funding may be available. For low-income parents who are enrolled in Adult Basic Education or a degree program at VIU, partial (up to $750/month) or full funding may be available. For low-income parents who are working or looking for work, partial funding (up to $750/month) may also be available.
